British singer-songwriter, Tulisa, of the hip-hop group, N-Dubz, is fuming right about now because she is allegedly claiming she wrote lyrics for the song, "Scream & Shout" by will.i.am, which has become a worldwide hit thanks to featured vocals from pop powerhouse, Britney Spears.
Before will.i.am took over the song's production, Tulisa apparently had her own version of the song, called "I Don't Give A F**k". The lyrics in question are, "When you hear this in the club, you gon' turn the sh*t up"
According to ASCAP's song database however, the song has three credited songwriters, Jean Baptiste Kouame, Jef Martens and Will Adams aka will.i.am.
Equally, Britney's name is absent from the credits as she rarely writes any of the songs she performs. She has been praised by several producers for not demanding to get songwriting credits for records she had no input on.
"Scream & Shout" was certified platinum by the RIAA in the U.S. on January 24, 2013. If Tulisa wants to see any royalties from "Scream & Shout", she'll have to prove her part in the song.
